Within Preah Vihear town and nearby areas, tuk-tuks are the main form of local transport. Hiring a tuk-tuk for short trips typically costs between $2 and $5 USD depending on distance. Roads outside the town can be rough, so some driving enjoy is recommended.

What to See

Preah Vihear Temple is the main attraction. It dates back to the 11th century and sits on a cliff 525 meters above the plain. Entry fee is $10 USD for foreign visitors. The temple provides views over the Cambodian plains and has historical significance due to past border disputes with Thailand. Nearby is the Preah Vihear Provincial Museum, which provides context about the temple and local culture; entry is free. The Kbal Spean archaeological site is about 50 km away but requires a guide and a 1.5-hour hike.
