Fat Goose Restaurant & Bar

I’ve eaten all over Sihanoukville and it’s not the easiest place to get a decent meal, so Fat Goose Restaurant in the White Apartments has often been something of a saviour during my time in the coastal gambling city. The food is solid. It’s not something you’d compare to the better restaurants in Phnom Penh or even Siem Reap, but within the Sihanoukville context it’s more than acceptable and that alone earns them points. The kitchen generally delivers consistent, satisfying dishes and it’s a reliable option when choices elsewhere feel limited. That said, there appears to have been some kind of management or ownership change recently and the place feels a bit different, a little less smooth than before, so they lose a point for that. Still, if you happen to be around Otres Beach and want a decent meal without gambling on the rest of the local dining scene, this is still a place worth trying. Four out of five stars. Best food in the town! If you going there i highly recommend russian salad and burger! SO GOOD

Found this place on google, was a 20mins drive to there. Had the Tempura for start. Size was ok but the portion provided is good. Sauce was more on the watery side, not thick but it can hang on to the prawns, it is not spicy so it’s suitable for many. The onion soup is nice and good portion too, nice caramelised onions, personally thought two baguette slices should be enough. The carbonara gave me nostalgic memories, where it is cooked with the simple ingredients, unlike those using cooking cream etc. i only wished it had more and more black pepper to it. 2nd visit i got the boneless beef ribs with mashed potatoes and gravy, it was very tender. I am looking forward to the Solyanka and sugar crust salmon soon.
