Historical Background
The Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum (S21) was a former high school turned into a prison and interrogation center during the Khmer Rouge regime from 1975 to 1979. The Killing Fields of Choeung Ek, located 15 kilometers south of Phnom Penh, served as one of the main execution and burial sites during the same period, where thousands of victims were killed and buried in mass graves.

Kun Khmer is most well known for its kicking technique, which generates power from hip rotation rather than snapping the leg. Kun Khmer consists of four types of strikes: punches, kicks, elbows, and knee strikes. The clinch is used to wear down the opponent. In the clinch, opponents battle for a dominant position for short-range strikes by way of elbows and knees. Cambodian fighters tend to utilize more elbow strikes than other martial arts in the region. In Kun Khmer, more victories come by way of an elbow technique than any other strike.

You will be informed the time before the activity start and picked up from your hotel for round trip by the TukTuk or Van Driver. To and before entering the boxing arena, you will learn history of the martial arts, The Kun Khmer, explained and shown by the local driver in English explanations. From the starting time, while cheering for the matches until it ends, the local cold drink or beer is served! Your ring side seats are reserved. You will have chance to watch closer and take the photos with the boxers. The Kun Khmer is really famous for its free style of fighting, including punching, kicking, kneeling and elbow strikes to knock out the opponents in the ring. Under Kun Khmer rulings, a match consists three minutes of five rounds, but Raw Yarn or international friendship match consists three minutes of three rounds. After matches done, you will be allowed to get into the ring for experience and memories.
