Artisans by Atelier Kampot

Nice view onto the river that is across somewhat busy road (goes for all the places on that street). We only went there for the drinks. They were very good, indeed. We particularly enjoyed the experience of trying cocktails with pepper so that was something unique. Having said that, the prices are way too high in comparison to other places in town. It wouldn’t be worth it outside of the happy hour (50% off for all cocktails 4-6).

I waited a couple of days before writing this review. I thought my experience might have been because I was in a bad mood. I hoped my experience at Arelier would fade with time. It hasn't. To be fair, I sat outside. I have no way of judging the atmosphere. But the service was terrible. The hostess/waitress acted as though I was a nuisance. That I had interrupted here quiet evening sitting on her stool by the door. Each request (two) required repeated attempts to get her attention. One of those two was asking for the check. Thankfully another employee dealt with that transaction. The Crab dish was bland. Very average and over priced. Disappointing. Thankfully there is a great variety of wonderful restaurants in Kampot to choose from.

The atmosphere is cool and cozy. It’s designed to be aesthetic but, with the plenty charging outlets, it can also act as a great place to do work. There’s a small garden within the building itself for Instagram purposes as well. The drink that I ordered was Pandan Green Tea with an extra shot of coffee. It was a wild order but they still did it for me anyway.

We had breakfast here and it was fantastic and very reasonably priced for the area! Dinner looks rather expensive on the menu however big breakfast for only $3.50 is a steal! We sat outside for a lovely view of the river but inside also looked very fancy and suitable for a nice sit down meal! Would definitely return here - once you go the first time they even give you a business card for 10% off your next visit, shame we found this place on our last day.

I had lunch at this great restaurant and I’m glad I did. Great location along the Kampot river, indoor and outdoor seating. Friendly staff, reasonable prices.
