Authentic Stories from Diners
Incredible restaurant... One of the BEST I've ever been to in any country. The seafood is so fresh! And I love the head-on shrimp! They also have Wagyu but I love the seafood with Kampot green pepper. The flavor is indescribable... It has heat but not like a chili pepper. It's more subtle and floral, but as you keep eating the heat builds in your throat and chest like a warm glow. My favorite is the sauteed shrimp with fresh green pepper tendrils. The freshly harvested green peppercorns only last one week before they become black pepper. The fresh green are unbelievable!! ❤️❤️❤️
This restaurant was recommended to us by a local, as the best steak in town. After visiting, we can totally concur. What makes this place stand out is the awesome architecture and decor , with very comfortable seating and roomy tables. We ordered the Tenderloin steaks, and was very professionally served by attentive cheerful staff. The Steaks arrived extremely well presented with our choices of potatoes and salad, and with additional local pickled pepper and salt, to match the steaks. This was in addition to the remarkable pepper set and grinder which enables you to customise the Red, Black or White Pepper to you own liking. The restaurant is clearly an excellent showpiece for the Local Kampot Pepper Industry. The Tenderloins were cooked to perfection, and the accompanying veggies and salad were excellent. From the moment we stepped into the restaurant, the service , seating, food, drinks, and restrooms, were wonderfully excellent. It's great to eat in style, at very reasonable prices, and at a place where the staff clearly enjoy working. This restaurant is Highly Recommended.
Great service, nice colonial style decoration and I enjoyed my carpaccio and seafood salad. The carpaccio was maybe a bit too peppery for my taste and the scallops were quite small. Overall a good place.
Kampot Seafood and Pepper was a welcomed surprise find. On our first visit, our wait staff, Pica recommended the seafood banquet and Tom Yum seafood, and explained the varieties of local pepper on the table, so informative. The flavours were subtle and delicious, the seafood so fresh. We recommend the baked oysters. We had 3 dinners there, each time Pica treated us as valued guests. Each meal a delight. We highly recommend.
We did a cooking class, it was just the two of us, but we could each choose our own dishes to make (1 starter, 1 main and a shared dessert). There is some guidance, but if you cook a lot at home there is nothing new to learn. However, the food was very tasty and a lot (and I mean a lot!). You will probably pay near as much for ordering the dishes made separately, so why not enjoy making them first? 😊
