L’Osteria in Kampot

This was the most authentic and best pizza I had in the last 6 months of traveling through Asia. Francesco is such a nice host and he sources the best resources, the burata was better than in restaurants in Italy. We even had a good limoncello afterwards. If you are in Kampot this place has to be on your bucket list.

After finding Marina Italian closed, I happened upon L’Osteria in Kampot—and what a lucky find! The food was exceptional; it’s rare to find a pizza crust that is both perfectly crunchy and flavorful. From the cold beer to the savory eggplant and the pizza, everything was delicious. Note for travelers: It is cash only, and seating is quite limited. I’d recommend arriving early or grabbing a drink nearby while you wait for a table. My total came to just $12, which is incredible value for this quality. I only wish I hadn't missed them the first time I tried to visit!"

The place belongs to a very nice person, he is from Naples, Italy and has been here for 20 years. A small place, not many people come in. But the smaller the better! I came back night after night because it was so delicious. I really enjoyed it.

A small and very cozy Italian restaurant in the heart of Kampot, owned by a true Italian gentleman. The focus here is not on trends, but on honest, delicious food made with care. I came here many times, and every visit felt warm and familiar. The owner is a very kind and pleasant person, always happy to chat and make you feel welcome. I hope to come back one day, even though it’s time for me to leave. A truly special place.

After several weeks of eating only Khmer food I was looking for something a little different and was thinking I’d have some pizza. Found this cool little Italian bistro that’s apparently known for that but ended up having some pasta bolognese and some great charcuterie. The place is TINY, 4 small tables with 2 seats each and it’s a bit pricey but worth it if you love this type of cuisine. Next time I’ll have to try the pizza.
